Tayon Stray Obituary, Death- A young man from Naperville was fatally shot in the early hours of Tuesday morning on Chicago’s South Side, authorities reported.
According to Chicago police, officers were patrolling the area near the 1400 block of West 77th Street when they heard multiple gunshots shortly before 3 a.m. The officers searched the vicinity and discovered an unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Emergency responders quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but he was later pronounced dead. Police also recovered a firearm at the scene.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the deceased as 23-year-old Tayon Stray of Naperville. An autopsy was scheduled to take place later that day to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities have not released any information regarding a potential suspect or motive in the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal incident.
